Such old shops selling various stuffs, with beautiful wooden carvings over their doors or pillars are in abundance in Kathmandu city. The entire city is ornamented with wood carvings from various pages of history, unfortunately mostly under-maintained! Although Nepalese are usually very jolly people but the lack of business due to mushrooming modern stores and adjacent upmarket malls are quite evident from the face of this shopkeeper lady.
